The oat milk was pouring, the beers were flowing, the good vibes were pumping.

“Coffee competitions are a great way for baristas and enthusiasts to engage in the industry.

But often they are quite rigid and not very inclusive. On Wednesday we were able to do away with all of that in the suitably chaotic, silly yet accessible Minor Figures style.

In Round 1 competitors tasted four coffees to identify origin and process. Round 2 was all about the latte art with a head-to-head throwdown.

Then in the Final, we put kaleidoscopic goggles on our contestants and asked them to make two coffee in three minutes – arguably (and hopefully) the most sadistic but hilarious coffee nonsense you’ll find anywhere.
