ROASTERS COMPETED 
FOR THE INAUGURAL NEWGROUND WORLD CUPPING

12th December 2022 / the stage is set for one of the most prestigious awards in modern coffee: NewGround World Cupping. 16 coffees, 16 roasters, one big, coffee flavoured brawl.

THE FORMAT WAS SIMPLE.
 4 GROUPS OF 4 COFFEES, 
ALL CUPPED BLIND.

All were tasted and a favourite was voted for. The winner of each round went through to a grand final where a champion was crowned after a final blind cupping.

THE FINALISTS

The Barn from Berlin with a stunning Washed Kenyan;

Pale from Poland with another sensational Washed Kenyan

Nomad from Barcelona with yet another incredible Washed Kenyan;

Cat Cloud from Santa Cruz with an awesome Washed Ethiopian;

And the winner was….
