A few years back, Xicotepec received the title of Pueblo Mágico (magic town) which is a certification created by the Mexican tourism office for communities with touristic interest.

This attention, along with the interest of the small producers towards quality processing, may bring a resurgence of the coffee from the Northern Sierra of Puebla.
